ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:

We basically need to create HS connectivity from Oracle 11G database to SQLServer, For this I have installed Data Direct ODBC 64 bit connectivity:

But when I try to run the following query from oracle servre to the SQL Server sever : I get the following error:

select * from dual@jemssql;

ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
[DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Line 1: Incorrect syntax near
'DUAL'.[DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Statement(s) could not
be prepared.
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from JEMSSQL

as far as I know, there is no "dual" interface in MSSQL.

Even if I try this query it still does'nt work:
The following table exists on SQL Server side:
select * from jems.jcnt_jobs@jemssql;               *
ERROR at line 1:

'JCNT_JOBS'.[DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Statement(s) could

ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from JEMSSQL

Try select * from "jems.jcnt_jobs"@jemssql (with quotes). Be sure to write "jems.jcnt_jobs" in the same case,  as in MSSQL database.

For HS (Oracle Generic Connectivity) you have to use 32-bit ODBC driver
