Create stored procedure

I have a query that when executed in SQL server runs fine. But when I try to execute it as a stored procedure, it "Command(s) completed successfully." but does not update the table like when I run it from the query line.
THis is my query that executes fine and updates the table as expected:
declare @pkID varchar(50)

select top 1 @pkID = id from test..testtable where id is not null and uuser_id =''

UPDATE test..testtable SET uuser_id = 123 WHERE id = @pkID
And attached is my stored procedure that finishes but does nothing.Start Free Trial
