OK cthulthu,
Thanks for your response.
I will speak to the programmer and see if this is what he is after, whilst I understand most of your comment, i was not really clear what you meant by a network driver, the databse will be on a sepearate server not the desktop, will we need a network driver. The implication being that a desktop driver will only work for a locally installed paradox database.? or network driver meaning single licence?
Thanks for your assistance

Unfortunately, MS stopped including the Desktop Database ODBC drivers in MDAC a few years ago. They are included in Windows XP (http://support.microsoft. com/kb/271 908) as well as in Office 2000 and XP. The Paradox driver was part of the Jet drivers (ODBCJT32.DLL).

My experience with the MS drivers, though, is that you get what you pay for. A far better choice would be to download the driver from DataDirect, one of the major developers of ODBC drivers. You can download a free trial of a Paradox driver at http://www.datadirect.com/
The cost for a full blown driver can vary. For a desktop, it's not generally very expensive. The cost rises significantly, however, if you're looking for a network driver.
