Configuring DAC client to 'talk' to Powercenter 8.6

Trying to configure Oracle BI DAC to 'talk' to PowerCenter 8.6; getting error "Failure connecting to "INFORMATICA_DW_SERVER"! STD OUTPUT
 ERROR: Option [-d] expecting value.
Usage: pmcmd pingservice
                         <<-service|-sv> service [<-domain|-d> domain] [<-timeout|-t> timeout]>

PowerCenter installed on UNIX....

Any clues??
