excel weighted average

I have an example file
cell
I 20

currently it averages the column, but i need each value to only represent the weighted percentage of calls as shown in column K instead of each being valued equally. Does this make sense?

Column K should be a multiplication of columns B and I.  (K6 = B6 * I6).  From there, you can total up the answer speeds and divide by the total number of calls to get the weighted average.

So your formula for cell I20 would then be (with the formula I posted above in column K):
=Sum(K6:K19)/B20

Ive used this
=IF(E26="","",IF($B$26=0,0,$B$26*E27))
Where E26 is my actual say I was shooting for 100% and got 98%, B26 is the weight lets say the element is worth 10% of my total score, and E27 is the percent actual to the goal.

Hello vinnie,

To get a weighted average use this formula in I20

=SUMPRODUCT(I6:I19,K6:K19)/K20

Of course if K20=100% then you don't need the /K20 part but assuming the sum might not always be 100%....

Take a look,

I put the SUMPRODUCT formula in I20 and custom formatted that cell as hh:mm:ss

Note, as Sean implies you can actually get the weighted average direct from the data in columns B and I without using the calculation in column K, i.e.

=SUMPRODUCT(I6:I19,B6:B19)/B20

Using what I posted in 25179180, you would see (if I remember correctly), an average of 00:00:43.

The simple way (which I always go for), is to use the copy format function to copy one of the custom formats you had already created into B20.

And ahh, tricky using the SUMPRODUCT() function. :)  I rarely ever use those... very helpful, though.
