How do we remove the restrictions to be able to change/edit the database?
Thanks in advance

Database is .mdb, not locked with a password. Only restrictions are design permissions & write permissions. I am not looking to 'crack' the security, only looking to understand what needs to be done to either remove the permission restrictions altogether, or see if we need to re-build the database somehow. Any other solutions/comments are greatly appreciated.
Do you have an administrator username and password?
If you don't, then I'm afraid you ARE trying to crack the security.
You might feel that you are quite justified in doing so, but no-one here can confirm your ownership of the application.
It is illegal to assist in enabling unauthorised access to software, and so it is forbidden by the terms of EE membership and can lead to suspension of a member.
If you have a valid admin username and password then that should normally be all you need, although it is still possible that the developer has locked you out of the designs through additional security actions.

I think you might have a big problem.
The first thing to try is to hold the shify key down while you oipen the database.
However that might get you nowhere.
Then, are you using an mdb file or an mde file to run your application?
If it's an mde then then the design of all 'code' objects - forms, reports, modules- is not accessible.
Your best hope would be to locate the corresponding mdb file that was used to create the mde and see if that is 'locked'.
However, if by 'locked' you mean the app uses Access workgroup security and the security has been correctly applied, then you need a username and password of an 'Administrator' to get into the locked areas.
You need to know that no-one here can assist you in 'cracking' the security, even though it is crackable using tools available on the net.
