How do I connect to Universe database using unioledb

Im trying to connect to an Universe database using unioledb ut I keep getting the error
Died in UCI::SQLConnect() with SQLSTATE IM976,  Native error:0[IBM][SQL Client]UCI connections to non UniVerse Databases is not allowed
Any help wouldbe appreciated
