I set up 2 mysql server. 1 is master, the other slave and it works fine.
Now I am wondering if it would be possible to have both running as 'master', e.g. equally updating each other.
Goal is to point with DNS randomly at one of them to balance load and to get redundancy in case one of them crashes,
anybody did anything like that?

look for the log-slave-updates option, this should allow to solve your "problem"
Obvioulsy, this option is available from a given version on, so you might use a version that doesn't have this yet?
Cheers
