My apologies - just figured it out.
MySQL does not like the alias "all".

Browse All TopicsHi,
I am trying to combine 2 fields and perform a search on the combined result. Unfortuntately, MySQL is not letting me perform a WHERE statement on the alias field.
SELECT CONCAT(manufacturer, ' ', productname) AS all, manufacturer, productname, FROM products WHERE all LIKE "xyz" ORDER BY manufacturer, productname
I have tried using "HAVING" instead of "WHERE" with no luck. I cannot use subselects as the server is running MySQL 4.0.15.
Thank you in advance.

Can you try...
SELECT CONCAT(manufacturer, ' ', productname) AS all, manufacturer, productname,
FROM products
WHERE CONCAT(manufacturer, ' ', productname) LIKE "xyz"
ORDER BY manufacturer, productname
