i have try run it on command prompt. but, the command prompt does not recognize mysqldump. Can you tell me more detail how to run it on command prompt?

i need your help,
i'm developing a system using java and mysql 5. i want to export data from mysql to xml file. did you know export the data? Besides that, i have found one solution to export data from mysql into xml file, by using this command:-
mysqldump --xml databasename > filename.xml
however, i don't know where to run the command.

mysqldump –-user admin –-password=password mydatabase > sql.dump
In the example above, we're specifying that MySQL should check the grants for the user account of the "admin" user with a password of "password". I'm running MySQL on Windows 2000, and these are the default credentials for the admin user account. I have chosen to backup the database named "mydatabase" into the file sql.dump.

you run the "mysqldump" command from the command prompt.
you can also create a php file from which you can call the mysqldump command using the exec function
exec("mysqldump -h localhost ...... 2>&1", $output);
