How to change mysql database name?

Hi,

How can I change the existing database name in mysql? I cannot find any entries in phpmyadmin.

Use Alter database to change the database name for further details

stop mysql, rename the folder in the data directory, and start mysql

where should the data dir be? I am under FreeBSD6

Regarding changing database name its more similar to mssql. so you can even use alterdatabase. For exact mysql

but there is a tab operations in phpmyadmin (system privileges) there is a field change name. Probably, it is the easiest way. Am I right?
