MySQL Table is full. Now what?

I am using mysql version 4.0.18 which is running on a Mandrake Linux version 10.1.
After doing some reading I found out that the maximum table on such a system should be around 4GB.

Today, I encountered a table is full error and I am looking for a solution.
The table contains a LONGBLOB field which is used to hold images. What are my options now?
How can I work around this issue?

Note: That changing the limit to 8 or 12 GB (with various workarounds) is not a very good option.
