mySQL naming convention

Hi experts!

I'm currently developing a webpage where users may sign up as members.
So, the question is: should the database table for the users/members be
named 'users' or 'members'?

There is no correct answer, it's what ever makes most sense to you.

Given the choice of two I would probably opt for user, it gives you the advantage from a naming point of view since a user doesn't have to be a member.

Also mysql uses the table user, if it's good enough for them.

I would say either of those options are sensible, which one you decide upon would be your preference.

The best convention I find is to make the table names as descriptive as possible without (although this seems obvious, people don't always apply logic).
