mysql query

I have a table with columbs  name, company name and emailid. In few record the company name field is empty. I want a query with which I sould be able to fill the field of the empty company name from emailid by removing charecters before '@' and after .

$array = explode("@",$email);
$name = $array[0];
$domain = $array[1];

You may need to retrieve the values from the database initially, perform a function on the email_Id to get the required data and then update the database accordingly.

You can do this directly in MySQL. Try this:

select name,
  if(company_Name>'',company_Name,
    substring_index(substring_index(company_Name,'@',-1),'.',1)) as company_Name,
  email_Id 
from TableName
