MySQL multiple JOINS and multiple WHERE conditions

For an application system, I have a log-in table and 3 other tables. All 3 other tables have a "closed" field which is assigned "1" when an application is completed. On a new application I insert a new row in all 3 with "closed" fields null. I'm trying to select the newly created rows but my SELECT statement is obviously not right...

FROM table1 INNER JOIN table2 ON table2.tbl2_usrid = table1.userid
INNER JOIN table3 ON table3.tbl3_usrid = table1.userid
INNER JOIN table4 ON table4. table4_usrid = table1.userid
WHERE table2.closed <> 1 AND table3.closed <> 1 AND table4.closed <> 1 AND table1.userid = 34 (this user id will be selected from a login session id)
