Browse All TopicsHey,
I'm working on a question, and I got an answer, but I have no way of finding out if I'm right or wrong... so I was hoping I could get some help to figure that out:
This is the question:
Product(maker, model, type)
Printer(model, color, type, price)
When inserting a new printer, check that the model number exists in Product.
This is what I got:
CREATE TRIGGER trigg_B
BEFORE INSERT ON Printer
FOR EACH ROW
IF primary_key = NEW.primary_key
AND (NOT EXISTS NEW.model)
INSERT INTO Product null, NEW.model, NEW.type
END;
I'm writing this in MySQL, I'm new to it, so I might have made some slight syntax errors, and I apologize for that, but do I have the right idea?
Thanks in advance!
