Can mySQL handle an ultra-high traffic database application with proper hosting?
Greetings, I have been tasked with a relatively simple ecommerce application that I would like to use mySQL for. It is a simple process, about 10 products and a simple checkout process using Authorize.net or paypal for payment.
The only issue . . . . the customer believes they will experience periods of extremely high traffic, like around 1 million visitors in particular 24 hour periods. I have no idea if they are right about this or not.
Can mySQL handle this? And any advice on special considerations for an app that could potentially have this much traffic?
Thanks!
