With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. Retrieve and Delete Data from MySQL

I have a form in which the user enters their email address and click submit. I have a database with two fields (id, number). id is an auto increment field. When the user clicks submit the script needs to find the row with the smallest id and get the value from the number column on that row. That value will need to be stored as a variable then I will have it emailed to the user who requested it. Next I need the script to delete that row so that the same number is never given twice. I am just learning php as I go. I can catch on to the code pretty quick. This is the best way I have thought of to do this. Any suggestion or help is greatly appreciated.
