The Solution Rating System
|
|
| With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site. If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support. Thank you! |

Asked by voodoo22 in Delphi IDE, MySQL Server, Delphi Components
Hello,
I am trying to develop a user permission system for my application but have not been very successful in locating any examples / tutorials that will allow me to do such as thing so thought I would ask the experts at EE for some assistance.
What I want to do is create a login system for my app and once a user is verified I want to only allow them to access certain parts of my app depending on their user level. For example I wan't a level2 user to only be able access only certain items in a combo box while a level5 user can access all the items in the combo box.
The way I was thinking this would work is if I had the combo box items stored in a mysql table and have the users stored in another table and then somehow link the 2 together so if a person has this name/pasword and are in this group, they are only allowed to see the items in the combo box for their group.
I am sure something like this has been done before but as I said I am having a difficult time locating any resources on the subject so I thought this would be the best place to ask where I might find some good resources on how I can create a system like this.
BTW. I am using the ZeosLib components for Delphi if that makes any difference.
Thanks,
David Chapman (aka Voodoo22)
