This may be a stupid question. But we have a oracle rac running on 10g each server has 16 cpu's attached which rac combines to be 32 processes.
I pressume oracle job_queue_processes isnt governed by how many processes are running. I mean I could have much more than 32 job_queue_processes running as long as I monitor how the server/s are performing.

That parameter is not related to the actual number of processes running, but rather to the jobs in the database.
