Do not use ampersand characters '&' in comments in a SQL statement or PL/SQL block.
SQL*Plus interprets text after the ampersand character "&" as a substitution variable and prompts for the value of the variable, &that:
You can SET DEFINE OFF to prevent scanning for the substitution character.
1. Before Inserting the Data run the following statement first from your SQL *Plus
SQL> set define off;
2.Then run your insert statement from that same Session.
Example:
SQL> insert into demo values('a&B&C&d');

Use the SET DEFINE SQL*Plus command to set the substitution character from an
ampersand (&) to any other non-alphanumeric non-white space character (such as
an asterisk, percent symbol, or pound sign). Leave DEFINE ON and SCAN ON to process substitution variables.
SET ESCAPE ON (Leave the DEFINE as '&' and SCAN ON). Preceed the special character with the escape backslash \.
