Unstall Oracle 11g

Does anybody know how to uninstall Oracle 11g from Linux?  When I installed Oracle 11g I used the command ./runInstaller.  This opens a copy of OUI and I ran through the process.  The instance didn't work properly after installation and I would like to unstall it and try again.

execute command runInstaller at shell prompt, Oracle Universal Installer GUI will appear infront of you and then click at "Deinstall Products" button and check the installed oracle and click at "Remove" button.

You can re-run the script ./runInstaller and when you arrive at the installation window (GUI), choose the button to see all installed package and on the installed package form, there is a button to do the uninstallation (desintaller)

To dvz,

sonicefu is not correct because there is no deinstall button on the OUI form in this case.  I will check the solution offered by aqsapt and let you know how it turns out.

On OTN you could find an excellent manual how to install 11g.
The main thing is to have done all prerequisites and they are too
much. If Oracle doesn't run the first thing is to see all values
and settings there.
Also try to download the installation kit again - often there are download errors.

Thanks for the help.  I found the uninstall dialog but was told that I couldn't unstall packages because oracle was installed with a different version of the installer.  Problem is that I am using the same installer in both cases.  Any ideas?

Yes, I believe you should give the point to the first comment. Let me know how to give the point back to you.

If I were you, since oracle hasn't been succesfully installed,  I would remove completely the oracle base-home directory or you can install the oracle on different directory and then remove the first one.

Also, try to browse to oracle-base.com to see more threads and discussion on Oracle installation
