What do you mean by "get a detailed" init.ora

You can generate an init.ora from your current spfile of the running instance with:

SQL> create pfile from spfile;

That will put it into the ORACLE_HOME\database directory as init<SID>.ora

Or you can create one explicitly:

SQL> create pfile='C:\init.ora' from spfile;

ok! Got you now.

You can create a quick, simple database with DBCA and you'll have an spfile as a result.

If you don't want to do that, I have generated one from one of my 11g Windows boxes. The SID is dev.


I still recommend the DBCA route.

Thanks a lot.
How to specify ADR_HOME or ADR_BASE. It seems that bdump and udump  disappear.

The creation of Data base in most cases is done using DBCA
(Data Base Configuration Assistant).
It creates SPFILE and also an init.ora.

Data bases are created manually only in some packeged application
like SAP, EBS and the creation kit is delivered by the vendor.
