Question

EM Alert: Unreachable Start...Agent has stopped monitoring.

I receive the following error emails hourly, as if the agent has a hiccup.  I've looked on OTN and applied the config changes below to emd.properties (based on http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2557469), but after cycling dbconsole, the errors still are coming.

I suggest you to upgrade agent to version 10.2.0.5. We have got many similar errors, after upgrade they all gone.

I am trying to find the Agent binaries, but only can find Grid Control Agent.  The instance in question is not associated with any Grid Control servers.  Is this just a naming convention and the new version of OEM is considered Grid Control, even if it's installed on a local instance only?

Yes, even though they use same framework, GridControl and DBConsole are different products. My suggestion is about EM GridControl with separate agent.  I'm sorry for confusing you.

Have you seen note 602021.1 ?
This is probably du to Bug 6780904.  Patch 6780904 is available for 11.1.0.7 Database control also.
