Oracle Forms: How to refresh a data block based on a table after the table is changed.

I had to modify a database table by adding a few fields.  There existed an Oracle Forms data block based on the table before the changes had been made.  Can I refresh the block so that it recognizes the database changes or do I have to recreate it from scratch?

The is no such refresh mechanism in Oracle Forms.

You have 2 choices:

Just manually add the new columns to the block or
like you said, drop the block and recreate it from scratch.

You can choose depending on workload.

Depending on your version of Forms, the data block wizard can be used to add new fields from a base table to the block.

Of course it really depends what you need to do with those extra fields. If you don't need the form to use those fields, you don't need to modify the form at all.
