how to change sql prompt in oracle 8i ?

how to change sql prompt in oracle8i.
for example in dos  we change  "prompt"  command to change current prompt according our wishes.
like that,
what is the command in oracle to change sql prompt according to set our own name in prompt ?

You use the SQLPROMPT setting e.g:

set sqlprompt "TEST> "

Use

set sqlprompt

for example:

If you want this to apply automatically you can put it in the system glogin.sql script and it will set the prompt for everyone.
Alternatively, setting it in your local login.sql script will only set it for the current user.
