but what about the tablespace size the size of the tablespace is increased what about that.
Are you sure size is increased because of the import?
Did you have the table structure in place before import?
- Or if you have created the table using import, then it will allocate extents, which will increase the tablespace size.

Yes!
Did you have the table structure in place before import?
No i dropped it before import
so what you are saying that i have to import it again.

One more thing the image sizes are 16 to 20 MB that is not my doing but let me know if buffer 100000 is fine or should i increase it more.
When you import again, it will not increase the tablespace size.
You can try with a buffer size of 100000, buffer is to hold the SQL.

Yes i know it will not increase but i have to do it all over again i want to cry.
My database is in archive log mode it will again archive i am running out of space.
@anand_2000v
column name blob
database oracle 9iR2
let me try with bigger buffer size and i will import it on different server.
Actually it all started when one of moron developer drop the table space from the server (production). The data of the lob segement were in different tablespace and the table defination was in different.

Hope you are testing this import on a development server. If so, why do you enable archive logging on a dev server? Not required at all, unless there is some special requirements.
And, never give developers DBA privileges. Have a separate user account.

- All the tables have record count 0?
