Oracle 9i restore tablespace to different db server

I am using Symantec Backup Exec 10D to backup serveral Oracle 9i databases.  In order to verfiy that my production backups are working properly I need the ability to restore these backups to a different Oracle 9i database server.  I am backing up one particular application related tablespace as well as the archive logs, control files and the system tablespace.  I need to find a procedure for mounting a restored tablespace backup to a different server.  I'm sure there are well documented procedures out there for this but I am having a very hard time coming accross what I am looking for.

If anyone could point me in the right direction for this documentation I would appreciate it very much.
