The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Find/Remove Duplicate Query Results - Query Help

Asked by _TAD_ in Oracle 9.x, Oracle Database, Oracle 10.x

I have two tables with relatively disparet information.  I want to join these two tables together to form a sequence of events.  This hould be easy, but I can't seem to get the query right.

Oracle 9.2

Table A (SERVICE_ID, NAME, ASSIGN_DTTM)
     100, TIER1, 03/10/2008 10 PM
     100, TIER2, 03/11/2008 7 PM

Table B (SERVICE_ID, ACTION, ACTION_DTTM)
     100, Dispatch, 03/10/2008 10 PM
     100, In-Progress, 03/11/2008 6 AM
     100, Additional Info, 03/11/2008 8 AM
     100, Solution Provided, 03/11/2008 9 PM
     100, Closed, 03/12/2008 2 AM

The query results at the end should have 5 rows and look like:

     100, TIER1, 03/10/2008 10 PM, Dispatch, 03/10/2008 10 PM
     100, TIER1, 03/10/2008 10 PM, In-Progress, 03/11/2008 6 AM
     100, TIER1, 03/10/2008 10 PM, Additional Info, 03/11/2008 8 AM
     100, TIER2, 03/11/2008 7 PM, Solution Provided, 03/11/2008 9 PM
     100, TIER2, 03/11/2008 7 PM, Closed, 03/12/2008 2 AM

In a nutshell, I need *exaclty* 1 Row in Table A for every row in Table B

Joining Table A and Table B on SERVICE_ID where ASSIGN_DTTM <= ACTION_DTTM produces a resultant with 7 rows.  I need to get rid of the two duplicate rows.Start Free Trial
