Self join update query error: 15:27:12 Error: ORA-01779: cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table

Hi in the follwing query I'm attempting to update rows in a table CR_RWAHIS where the transactiontype is U and there are other non-U transactiontypes for a given timekey/partnerkey/reportingentity/exposuretype combination.  The idea is to set SPARETEXT1 to 'A' for the particular rows.  However I'm getting the above mentionned error.  How cxan I reformulate the query to avoid it ?

You wont be able to do an update on a subquery or result set.
Instead you have to update it in the actual table.
Try updating the table itself directly based on your condition
