The Solution Rating System

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Oracle 9iAS  - 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable

Hi experts,

after installing Oracle 9 iAS I've faced a problem: can't get response from the database.
I've configured the DAD, but I receive every time the message 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable.

I"ve found the following error message in the IASHome/Apache/Apache/logs/error_log file:

[Sun Oct 05 20:28:19 2003] [error] mod_plsql: /pls/thrasher/sys.HELLO HTTP-503 ORA-28009 <B>Proxy log On failed.</B><BR>Please verify that you have specified correct connectivity information i.e. username, password & connect-string in the DAD


I'm newbie, and can't understand all aspects of Oracle iAS. Why does the iAS installer install another webserver? Which webserver is used if I use the HTP package? The ORA webserver or the iAS webserver?
