I have a stored procedure that is being called in a loop for emailing.
When I run the stored procedure, after emailing about 180 times, I am getting the below error -
ORA-30678: too many open connections
ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_TCP", line 28
Here is the code -
conn:= utl_smtp.open_connection( EmailServer, Port );
utl_smtp.helo( conn, EmailServer );
utl_smtp.mail( conn, SendorAddress);
utl_smtp.rcpt( conn, ReceiverAddress );
mesg:= 'Date: '||TO_CHAR( SYSDATE, 'dd Mon yy hh24:mi:ss' )|| crlf ||
'From:'||SendorAddress|| crlf ||
'Subject: Test Email' || crlf ||
'To: '||ReceiverAddress || crlf ||
'' || crlf ||mesg_body||'';
utl_smtp.data(conn, 'MIME-Version: 1.0' ||CHR(13)|| CHR(10)||'Content-type: text/html' || CHR(13)||CHR(10)||mesg);
utl_smtp.quit( conn );
Can anyone tell me what am I missing.

adding the open_data and close_data is not helping.
ajexpert,
I checked that post before posting my question. I dont have anyone else other than myself running this application that connects to the smtp host and sends out emails. So I dont think that post is of help.
Is there anything else that might be going wrong.
