SQl query is very slow

Dear experts,

This below SQl query is taking too long in the application.

I will appreciate if any one could suggest me a faster way to rewrite the query or any other solution..

the original query is below.

I know it is wage just by giving a query , and with out knowing the business logic.. but If any one can suggest a faster query, that would be great.

select od_order_id, od_prod_prod_id, od_quantity, od_replace_num,od_price_type, 
			Sum(od_quantity) total_prods, Sum(od_sub_after_discount) subtotal
		from order_detail where od_order_id = #client.order_id#
		group by od_order_id, od_prod_prod_id, od_replace_num, od_price_type, od_quantity

do u have an index on Order_id , I think its better tohave an index with all the columns on your Group by part

Maybe...if it is clustered.  It won't be better, but it will help.

My order_info table is not clustered..(I am not sure). How to find if the table is clusterd or not??  in sql server 2005?

If not clustered, how can I make it clustered table?

The order_detail table is clusterd. Just now I saw in table.
Now, the thing is, od_order_id is not a primary key , because it is not unique. We have other column autoid which is unique and primary key.

Now do you suggest me creating index for od_order_id(which is not unique )  ? this would help in speed up the query?

its about the Clusterd index, not the SQL Cluster

When I run, this is what I got.
PK_Order_Detail      clustered, unique, primary key located on PRIMARY      od_auto_id

My question, is not, od_order_id is not indexed, but this is non unique.. if i can index it, will it help?

Yes, it will help.  Just don't create a unique index on it.

create nonclustered index idx_orderid on order_detail(od_order_id)

open management studio, connect to your server and database, open a new query window, and type this inside it:

create nonclustered index idx_orderid on order_detail(od_order_id)
