OracleDBConsole Service Does Not Start

OracleDBConsole Service Does Not Start

After starting up without any problems following a recent install of Oracle 10g Standard Edition on Windows 2000, the OracleDBConsole%Oracle_SID% (OracleDBConsolestarter in our case) is no longer starting.  Whether it's set to Automatic or started manually, we get a Windows error 1053 (service did not start in a timely manner).

As a result, we are unable to open Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

Oracle support has had us drop the sysman user and run the Enterprise Manager Config. Assistant from the command line to remove and recreate some configuration files, but this has not helped.  They have also asked us to verify that there are no Oracle system or user environment variables set, which we have verified.

We are using Automatic Storage Management (ASM), and did have some problems with that along the way, but those seem to be straightened out for the moment.

Delete the OEM:
C:>emca -x sid_name

Using DBCA  reconfig the dabase with OEM option.

Look the new port on which OEM listens:

D:\ora10g\install\portlist.ini

i do have the same problem - OracleDBConsole does not start.

i'm using windows 2003 server. but my problem is with the domain.
before installing oracle db, the network admin didn't set any domain at my office. - OracleDbConsole working just fine.

after a month, the network admin have implement domain to all. right after entering the domain, my OracleDbConcole does not start. if my server exit the domain, the OracleDbConsole works again.

can someone help me.

I had the same problem. It is very nasty problem. It is caused by the fact thar Oracle Intelligent Agent keeps somewhere encrypted the IP of the computer. I solved this problem using force - Export all non system schemas, dropped the DB, created a new one and imported all non system schemas.
