Oracle performance on VMware

Asked by troyhmcse01 in Oracle Product Info, Oracle 10.x

Hi,

I'm about to embark on a oracle installation. I wanted expeerts to share there solution desgin experience with oracle and vmware.

- Host OS will be Linux Red Hat Enterprise 4
- Oracle database will serve up a medical application with about 60 users and database will go live about 6Gb in size.

Was thinking to at least split the vitural disks in two and have each vitrual disk on it's own raid 5 channel. On the first raid 5 channel/virtual disk I would put /root /tmp /var /swap /usr. On the second raid 5 channel/virtual disk I would put all oracle releated partitions /u05 /opt /oradata.

Appreciate and ideas, experiences or thoughts.
