what do you mean by "automatically sending it ".
is it like the user clicks on a link and email is sent to the server ? If yes what would the message body contain ? don't you want the user to enter the text of the mail atleast?

Regards,
Sudhi.

They may be a simplier way but this sounds like a task Oracle Workflow would but good at.

Oracle Workflow basically allows to define your business processes. You can send mails or notifications based events.

I work only on Oracle Applications sites and Oracle Workflow is embedded in the core product therefore there are no license issues - this mightnot be true on your site.

Considering your question says urgent this may not be a viable route

Automatically sending means. In my entry form I have some text which will be entered by the user and I will have a link for sending mail. Once the user will enter text in the form and he wish to send mail he will click over the link and then the mail with the text should come to my server and from my server I wish to send that to the user. I mean if the client computer is not configured properly for sending the mails than I will have problem. That is why I want to send it to my server first and from there I will send it to the user which may be a client or may be a third party. My application is on web and its generating dynamic pages from oracle thru pl/sql html and oracle web server. I hope you will be able to understand what I need. Waiting for reply.

So you save the text into a table, along with one or more target e-mail addresses to send it to.  A background process connects as a client, collects pending mail, and posts it, deleting the pending message from the table or marking it 'sent'.

A Unix CRON job could fire off a SQLPLUS session that could do this.

For specific implementation ideas, look at <http://technet.oracle.com> under "Sample Code" -- there are at least three ways to do this...
