Oracle UI alternative for MS SQL Server

Does oracle 8i have an alternative for MS SQL Server's enterprise manager. In SQL Server, you can edit or add rows of data manually without having to use SQL.

I need to know if oracle 8i has something similar.

I highly recommend a tool called TOAD.  It allows you to look at the data (looks similar to Access) and change data without writing any SQL.  You can get a free trial version at:  www.toadsoft.com  or www.quest.com

By the way, if you do get TOAD, this is how you change/add data:

Install Toad and run it
Connect to your database
Select Database / Schema Browser from file menu
select the Schema owner on the drop down
select the Tables tab on the left
select the table you want on the left
select the data tab on the right
Your data appears from that table
Add/Change it
Click on the small database icon to commit your changes

Advanced features exist such as Filtering your data to only show you specific rows (click on the paintbrush looking icon to see your sort/filter options)

Yes -- Oracle Does have a utility similar --

Oracle ENTERPRISE Manager -(OEM)   current release version is 2.2.
Excellent utility --
you can read about it at TECHNET.ORACLE.COM
Follow the links  PRODUCTS ==> System Management ==> Enterprise Manager and Management Packs
(I'm a real fan fo the tuning utilities)
OEM2.2. has a online table editor (for data)...  Pretty nice too...


Other third party utilities I like:
DBARTISAN from Embarcadero Technologies
www.embarcadero.com
(very good tool -- pretty cheap per seat --  does not do as much as OEM,  but overall excellent.)

I would say Oracle8i (EE) version has the best tool, Enterprise Manager-DBA Studio.From There you can do whatever you want to do. All of them are point and click. but also you can see the SQL at the bottom when you are perfoming the function. Its very user freindly and robust.

ToadSofts, Toad is a very powerful tool but is not very intuitive. In other words, you will have to know what you are doing in Toad, whereas in Oracle Enterprise Manager, you can pretty much learn everything in 20 mins.

I know about Oracle 8i's Enterprise manager. I was looking for more info (more detailed) about how I can modify the tables, etc.

If you can provide me with a step-by-step guide, similar to what ser6398 has, that'll be great.

From Oracle Home go to Datbase Administration
            Then select DBA Studio
            Select the Database after you enter with SYSDBA
            privilages
            Select the Schema
            Select Tables
            Select the particular tables you want to modify by right-clicking . From here u can use the Table Data Editor to insert data or just double click it to change the attributes,

I beleive, You should hav 8.1.7 version to have DBA Studio
and offcourse Oracle Enterprise Manager being ver 2.2.0.0.0
