Weird bug with XP ODBC Administrator: is this normal?<br />

It's a patched version of XP, with the most recent Oracle server (9.2+). &nbsp;I didn't add the client libs on top, and I removed the Apache post-install.<br />

I'm trying to set up a DSN for DBD::ODBC perl access.<br />
<br />
From the ODBC Administrator I select:<br />
System DSN-&gt;Add-&gt;Oracle in OraHome92<br />
<br />
Now, no matter what I enter/select clicking test connection gives the error dialogue:<br />

Unable to connect<br />
SQLState=IM004<br />
[Microsoft][ODBC Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_ENV<br />

I tried looking up SQLAllocHandle, and it looks like it should be deprecated in ODBC 3+, so I checked the ODBC Core components versions, and all are 3.520.7713 or 3.520.9030 or 3.520.9041<br />

Any suggestions for a work-around, and can anyone replicate?
