LONG+VARCHAR in SELECT statement

How can i concatenate LONG & VARCHAR together in one select statement.. here is a part of my query .. i am just intersted in the second line where i get this error

***ERROR at line 2:
***ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes

SELECT  
LONGDESCRIPTION.LDTEXT | |chr(10) || 'Order Unit : ' || PRLINE.ORDERUNIT

FROM
PRLINE , LONGDESCRIPTION

WHERE
PRLINE.LDKEY = LONGDESCRIPTION.LDKEY
AND LDOWNERTABLE = 'PRLINE'
AND LDOWNERCOL = 'DESCRIPTION'

order by
PRLINE.PRLINENUM


where
LONGDESCRIPTION.LDTEXT is a LONG Type
and
PRLINE.ORDERUNIT is a varchar type
