The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Newbie forms questions

I'm just starting to learn how to develop Oracle forms (at home).

I am probably hitting the typical forms devloper learning curve. Anyway, I have 2 questions that I am stuck on:

1) I have devloped a form (based on a student records system) that includes 2 blocks..A student profile block and a student results block. I want to make it so students can ONLY read this formm (not ammend any of their data).

I tried doing this through enable/disable functionality of the fields but this didn't work. I also tried making all fields display only, but for some reason the form wouldn't enter runtime.

That being the case how do i go about making a form display only? I am thinking of leaving 2 fields open (name fields) so they can enter their name to get their results; or should I do this with a front end switchboard that takes them straight to their results?

Sorry if thats convoluted.

2) In the second block the students have results for 6 modules..so everything has 6 to it. The course code..the exam mark..coursework and overall.

How do i create a single GPA and put it into that block without it coming up 6 times?
