A condition to apply on Date DataType Field

Hi
In my Query I need to apply a where clause on the DateField

I need to pull the data based on this clause on the DateField

The condition should be like this:

If the Day of SysDate is Tuesday to Sataurday Then DateField Should be
  Between Sysdate - 1 AND SysDate - 1
If the Day of SysDate is Sunday Then DateField Should be
  Between Sysdate - 2 AND SysDate - 1
If the Day of SysDate is MonDay Then DateField Should be
  Between Sysdate - 3 AND SysDate - 1

In this one more thing to remember is DateField is Date datatype
and is in 'MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS AM' format.

However I could not able to make proper syntax for this condition and seeking your experts help
