BTW if you do recreate a sequence then you have to reGRANT all necessary select privs if the sequence is made available across schemas.

Is there a way to rollback CURRENT VALUE (currval) of a SEQUENCE (that I have generated using SEQUENCE.NEXTVAL option).
Thanks

Luck of the Draw..?
Of course, it may not be that simple to just changing the next value . You will have to consider what the seqeunce is used for , e.g. enforcing Referential Integrity, and what the effects are of re-creating same seqeunce numbers.
Also as you point out, how often that sequence is used may cause an impact .,If you are using public synonyms for your sequence, you could always drop the synonym whilst you are changing the seqeunce value. This will effectively disable the seqeunce for other users, but will cause errors....

I think you would have to rebuild the sequence
eg. DROP SEQUENCE sequencename;
CREATE SEQUENCE sequencename START WITH x;
where x is the value you you want to go back to.
