How do you know it's working your message appears to be the same.

Why don't you write some more informative messages before and after this insert statement

DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('Before inserting into FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR with sequence '||hblno);

insert into FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR ...

DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('After inserting into FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR - rowcount '||Sql%Rowcount);

by: chaituuPosted on 2005-02-01 at 05:03:25ID: 13192026

I PUT THOSE STATEMENT BEFORE AND AFTER HBL_MSTR;AFTER EXECUTING PROCEDURE I GET THIS MESSAGE;

360723
Before inserting into FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR with sequence 639581
After inserting into FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR - rowcount 1
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed;

I AM CHECKING  RECORDS IN FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR  LIKE THIS

select * from FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR where to_date(CRTD_TSTMP,'DD-MON-YY')='01-FEB-05';

NO RECORDS FOUND WAS COMING

by: Bigfam5Posted on 2005-02-01 at 05:27:54ID: 13192195

You should only compare DATES to DATES and CHAR to CHAR

If Crtd_Tstmp is a DATE then

select * from FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR where trunc(Crtd_Tstmp) = Trunc(Sysdate);

If it's a char

select * from FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR where to_date(Crtd_Tstmpm, 'DD-MON-YYYY') = TRUNC(SYSDATE) ;

by: alexnuijtenPosted on 2005-02-01 at 05:32:50ID: 13192233

select * from FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR where to_date(CRTD_TSTMP,'DD-MON-YY')='01-FEB-05';

should be...

select * from FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR where trunc(CRTD_TSTMP)=trunc (sysdate);

While it's best to do explicit compares, I don't see any problem with his date conversion compare:

where to_date(CRTD_TSTMP,'DD-MON-YY')='01-FEB-05';

Even though this may not be best, it should work fine.

Did you try:

select * from FS_FRS_HBL_MSTR where HBL_NO = 70360723;

by: oracle_ignorantPosted on 2005-02-01 at 22:33:31ID: 13200489

do two things :

1) Make sure the record is "  COMMITTED " into the database if you are not viewing from the same session
2) Try jrb1 solution use HBL_NO in the where clause to query the data
