never mind, turns out the ip changed since the backup so I had to update the ip

Browse All Topicsi have been backing up the partion where oracle 10g resides and after a disk failure I restored the image on a bigger partition and resized the filesystem, although the database comes up and I can connect as sys no user can connect.
when they try it waits for a few minutes and then says:
ERROR:
ORA-12170: TNS:Connect timeout occurred
i have tried connecting by ssh to the oracle box itself and running sqlplus with same results
i also tried creating a new user (since sys can connect) but the new user also failed to connect with timeout
how can I get a connection to work?
