I need to connect to my hosted oracle database to see some data. what would be best client software which is cheap or free. If any of those have free trial.

I guess you mean GUI software... TOAD is a wonderful tool. Free version at http://www.toadsoft.com/downld.html

TOAD is a handy GUI programmer's tool that also can display data in Oracle tables and execute SQL statements, but it may require a basic Oracle client as well.

Another option would be an ODBC driver (like the Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle).  Then you could use any ODBC-compliant tool (like: Excel, Access, etc.) to work with the Oracle data.

dbvisualizer has a free version and uses jdbc.

raptor/sql developer is also available from oracle, and has a similar feel to dbviuslaizer.
