In oracle there is a global temporary table type so you could do
create global temporary table newtable as select * from tableA

In oracle you can create "global temporary table" as a schema object. It is just just a normal table except that the data data stored will persists either for the current transaction or session. Insert into this table using normal insert statement.
SQL> create global temporary table temp1;

If creating a true temporary table, you may want to include the keywords ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS if you want the table to be session specific (i.e. for use throughout a session), otherwise, it will default to transaction specific.
create global temporary table temp1 on commit preserve rows as select * from tableA;
