Deleteing a row in a oracle table

I am tring to test using QARun (automation testing tools, like e.g. win runner qtp), I am testing it on oracle 10g database, i keep getting a error code in my testing tools, thats says "user  name already exist on the database"  the table name is CUSTOMER_IDENTITIES; First of all I tried deleting all the rows in the table,
It says "zero rows deleted" the user_name column I would like to empty out all the datas from there.  How do I do that?  p.s. I have tried select from customer_identities where user_name = 'value'
