The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. connecting to oracle w/o tns file

hey guys -

i'm trying to tonnect to an oracle server without a TNS file. this server currently is enabled to allow remote connections (i do it all the time from sqlplus and sqldeveloper) - i've run through a lot of diagnostics on the oracle server to make sure it's running properly, and it is -

but for whatever reason i can't get my application to connect to the oracle database. and i do need to do it w/o using a tns file ...  here's what i'm trying (among a lot of things) ...

if you have any advice, send it along!! thanks guys!! (this is a asp.net page btw .. )
