Collecting Index Statistics

Dear All,

In my oracle 9i database.. I have noticed many indexes haven't got their statistics collected at all... i ran this query

select count(1) from dba_indexes where last_analyzed is null

and this gave me a big number. .. my questions are

1.  Should i collect statistics on all of them?
2.  Is there any performance issue likely to occur after i collect the statistics?
3.  Is it fine if i Collect statistics on all indexes (already analyzed or not)? because I never collected any statistics on any of indexes..
