How to fetch a cursor into an object?

Good afternoon,

I would like to fetch a ref_cursor into an object. The code "idea" is attached (Snippet I). The code compiles fine but throws a runtime error ORA-00932 (wanted UDT, got char).

I know that I can fetch the ref_cursor into a set of vars and build the object from that set. But then I have to maintain the data structure in multiple positions in my code ... not a good solution.

The whole thing works with a normal record type, but I need the object type since the resulting table needs to be casted to a normal table outside the function (Snippet II). and in that way, a normal record doesnt work.

Any ideas?
